Durham care home Residents judge photography competitionResidents from HC-One’s St Margaret’s care home in Durham were invited to take part in judging a local photography competition.

Students from Durham University took part in a ‘Pictures of Durham’ photography competition which was judged by Residents at St Margaret’s. Over 60 photographs were submitted and Residents spent a lot of time looking through the entries and discussing them in detail.

The winner was a photograph of a post box in a snow scene outside Durham Cathedral. Residents agreed that all of the photographs were beautiful and said it was tough to choose one winner out of such a wonderful collection of photography.

St Margaret’s Home Manager, Katherine Swainston said: “Thank you to Durham University for offering our Residents the opportunity to judge this photography competition, it was lovely for everyone to take part in a community project.”

Located on St Margarets Garth, St Margaret’s care home offers short and long term care packages for older ladies and gentlemen that require residential care, nursing care and residential memory care, for those living with dementia.
