Essex based care home, The Moat House, have started their year off in a sustainable and fun way, when the craft club created some homemade bird feeders.
What better way to recycle the old Christmas trees than by hanging the home’s handmade bird feeders on them.
“Our feeders were made in a craft session using cones, peanut butter and birdseed,” explained Noreen Adkin, Home Manager.
"We were all overjoyed to see at first, not one, but two Robins coming to our patio to feed from the hanging feeders.”
Since then other birds have become regular visitors and are lovely to observe from the comfort of the Residents’ lounge.
Some bird feeders are hanging from Residents’ bedroom windows which have also attracted birds to feed.
One of the Residents commented, “It was worth getting messy with peanut butter to see the birds feeding from our feeders.”
