Dukinfield care home Residents enjoy winter wonderland at Daisy Nook Garden CentreResidents at The Beeches care home in Dukinfield, Tameside admired an early winter wonderland as they visited Daisy Nook Garden Centre.

Mary, Gladys and Freda were accompanied by The Beeches’ Wellbeing Coordinator, Sade Smith, as they strolled around the garden centre to look at the beautiful Christmas displays.

The trip began with a browse of the Christmas trees, before smelling the festive candles and having a game of guessing what each scent was.

The walk around the garden centre was followed by a delicious cup of tea in the cafĂ©, before enjoying a delicious meal, including sausage, egg and chips and fish, chips and mushy peas.

Gladys even met up with an old friend from church that she hadn’t seen for many years, who sat with the Residents and chatted about old times.

The morning came to an end with a look around the clothes section, where Freda tried on some scarves and Julie tried on some winter sweaters.

All three ladies thoroughly enjoyed the day out, as Gladys said: “Thank you for a lovely morning out. It was so nice, I have really enjoyed myself.”

Mary added: “I am glad I came, it’s somewhere I have not been before but it’s a lovely place and dinner was nice and very filling.”
