Dukinfield care home provides educational experience as old meets youngThe Beeches care home in Dukinfield was delighted to provide a valuable educational experience to students at Cromwell School as the home strengthens its relationship with the local community.

The Dukinfield-based care home is working alongside the local school to help with the students’ work experience. The home’s most recent trip involved a visit from Resident Catherine, who was invited to the school to tell the pupils more about her life.

Catherine, who will turn 100-years-old in December, answered questions from the children about when she was born, what her childhood was like and what are her favourite foods.

After spending time talking to the pupils and answering their questions, Catherine was delighted to receive a performance from the school of one of her favourite songs, Somewhere over the Rainbow.

Sade Smith, Wellbeing Coordinator at The Beeches, said: “At HC-One, we are committed to creating strong relationships with the local community to provide enriching experiences to our Residents and the organisations we work with. The visit to Cromwell School was exciting for both Catherine and the pupils and we cannot wait to work with them again in the future.”
