Dukinfield care home organises special Remembrance Day for ResidentsYew Trees care home in Dukinfield arranged a day of meaningful activities for Residents as part of Remembrance Day.

The morning began as Residents joined together to say a prayer, before a poem was read out in honour of those affected by the war.

Residents were joined by loved ones as everyone at Yew Trees took a two minute silence to pay their respects to soldiers who served in the war.

The day continued as Residents shared memories of the war, with many explaining how their family members served in the Armed Forces. Everyone then enjoyed a performance from the D-Day Darlings, who sang a number of classic wartime songs.

One Resident commented: “The activities arranged for Remembrance Day were really touching, I remember the songs from the D-Day Darlings from when I was growing up.”
