Dukinfield care home braves the shave for charityThe Beeches care home in Dukinfield was delighted to show its support to charity as the team raised more than £500 for Cancer Research UK.

The fundraising activities began as Residents and guests enjoyed a delicious serving of homemade cakes and a glass of wine, as people living at the home were joined by their family and friends to support the cause.

The main fundraising contribution, however, came from Care Assistant Julie King, as she bravely had her hair shaved by her Colleague Jane, raising a fantastic amount of money for charity.

To round off the day, guests enjoyed a delicious serving of fish and chips from the local chip shop as everyone gave Julie a massive round of applause.

Residents thoroughly enjoyed the day, as Freda said: “I’ve loved everything, from the wine to the head shave and the chippy dinner, it’s been brilliant.”

Mavis added: “Julie is very brave and looks so nice.”

Sade, Wellbeing Coordinator at The Beeches, said: “It’s been a fantastic day. We have raised plenty of money for a charity that is close to the heart of many. Julie is so kind and caring and we are very lucky to have her as a member of the team at The Beeches.”
