Residents at HC-One’s Himley Mill care home in Himley, West Midlands have enjoyed a trip to their in-house bar and a traditional pub quiz.
They enjoyed getting together in teams to test their knowledge in a trivia quiz while they tucked into pork pies, washed down with a beer or whisky and ginger. After a pint or two, they enjoyed a sing-a-long to their favourite classic pub tunes.
One Resident commented: “It was lovely to have a sing-a-long. I haven’t heard these songs in years.”
For those who preferred a quieter atmosphere, Residents could instead take part in a film afternoon. The gentlemen wanted to watch a war movie and eventually the group settled on a 1963 classic, The Great Escape.
They enjoyed a pint from the bar or even a fancy mocktail along with some popcorn to complement the movie.
Himley Mill Home Manager, Kelly Smith, said: “The Residents loved feeling like they were at the cinema. They enjoyed watching their mocktails being made.”
