Dudley care home Residents treated like royalty on The Queens 95th birthdayResidents at HC-One’s Himley Mill care home in Dudley celebrated The Queens birthday this April, with an afternoon tea.

On the morning of The Queens birthday, April 21st, Residents gathered in the homes lounge and enjoyed a lovely breakfast that was put on by kitchen staff. As they tucked in to their breakfast, Colleagues told Residents about their plans for the day to celebrate The Queen’s birthday.

Colleagues had purchased crowns, so the ladies could feel like Queen’s for the day too and they also organised a lovely afternoon tea for Residents, with some lovely scones, sandwiches and drinks on offer.

For this, Colleagues made sure all the Residents looked amazing, cutting and washing the lady’s hair and giving them a little spruce up.

Resident Betty Heath said: “I have loved having my hair done and treated like royalty.”

After the tea, Residents and Colleagues toasted to The Queen and sent their support after the recent death of her beloved husband, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

Himley Mill Home Manager Kelly Smith said: “It was a happy atmosphere and lovely to see everybody having a good day.”

Located in the neighbourly village of Himley, just outside Wolverhampton, Himley Mill is a friendly care home that offers nursing and nursing memory care for those living with dementia, as well as care for young people with physical disabilities.
