Residents and staff at Douglas View care home in Hamilton celebrated St Andrew’s Day in true Scottish style with a surprise appearance of the Scottish Cup.
Residents enjoyed a Scottish-themed buffet while watching entertainment from a Scottish piper and singer.
Douglas View was excited to welcome some well-known local faces along to the celebration, including MSPs Margaret Mitchell and Monica Lennon, and Deputy Lord Lieutenant John Brown.
Richard McBrearty, a representative of the Scottish Football Museum, also attended and brought along the Scottish Cup, which Residents were delighted to have a hold of.
Helen, a Resident at the home, commented: “Getting to hold the Scottish cup was fantastic, it really made my day.”
Katy Jenks, Home Manager at Douglas View, said: “Our Residents really enjoyed taking part in the St Andrew’s Day celebrations, we had such a fantastic time.”
