Doncaster care home helps Resident keep up local traditionStaff at The Beeches care home in Doncaster have helped Resident John to keep up his old tradition with a lovely act of kindness.

After John expressed how much he missed seeing his wife and going to his local pub for a pint, Care Assistants Vicky Webb and Emma Waite have been coming into work regularly on their day off to take John to see his wife and then down to the local pub to enjoy a pint of his favourite beer.

On his most recent trip, he even finished the pub visit off by collecting a fish supper on his way home, expressing how grateful he was to Vicky and Emma for giving up their days off recently so that he could enjoy a day out.

John commented: “What a lovely day we had. The pint of beer was lovely, and the fish and chips weren’t bad either!”

The Beeches’ Home Manager said: “At HC-One, kindness is at the heart of everything we do, and this has been demonstrated clearly by Vicky and Emma’s gesture by giving up so much of their own time to John. This is true kind care at its best!”
