Over the past three months, three 14-year-old ladies from Sacred Heart Academy have been visiting the Residents at HC-One’s Park House Care Home in Guisborough, Cleveland on a Thursday evening as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Award.
The Residents have all really looked forward to the visits of Katie Lynch, Mary Leng and Lucy Chapman, and hearing all about their progress with the award.
Ella Clark was particularly enthusiastic as in her younger days she was involved with the award scheme and so were her three grandchildren, Hannah, Rachel and James who all completed the award in their youth.
The lovely young ladies told Ella all about their expedition in October where they are planning to walk over the North York Moors and camp overnight, pitching their own tents and cooking their own food as well.

“It is such a wonderful experience, just embrace and enjoy it.”
Park House’s Home Manager, Alishia Calvert commented:
“It has been such a pleasure to welcome Katie, Lucy and Mary and they will always be welcome to visit Park House.”
