Diamond Wedding Anniversary celebrations for Cold Springs Park ResidentOlwen Robinson, a Resident at Cold Springs Park in Penrith, Cumbria, and her husband Mike celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last week, surrounded by their loving family at their home in Keswick.

Mike and Olwen were introduced by mutual friends when they were both working in Millom; Mike was carrying out his national service in the police service and Olwen was a teacher.

They married in 1958 at Saint Stephen’s Church in Blackpool, before welcoming their daughter Fiona in 1963.

Both Olwen and Mike have keen interests in walking and golfing and once were Ladies Captain and Captain at Keswick Golf Club in Cumbria.

They were also both avid travellers, enjoying travelling to North America, Barbados and their favourite country, Sweden.

Mike commented:

“Meeting Olwen was one of the best moments of my life. She has been my saviour throughout our married life, and now we need to take care of her as best we can.”

Cold Springs Park’s Home Manager, Dawn Sheehan, commented:

“This is such a fantastic milestone for Olwen and Mike to celebrate together with their family. We couldn’t be happier for such a lovely couple.”
