Alan Aberdeen and his wife Maureen celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary with family and friends in the quiet lounge of Melbury Court.
An entertainer was brought in for the day as Alan loves to sing and sure enough, he sang along to a number of ballads and hits from the 50s and 60s.
To top it all off, they also received an extra special gift – a telegram from the Queen.
Alan and Maureen both had a lovely day and thanked the kitchen and care staff for their help in making it happen.
When asked what their secret to a long and happy marriage is, Maureen commented:
“To love each other in sickness and in health and to be there for each other but allow each other space too if needed.”
