Devizes care home enjoy celebrating VE dayResidents and Colleagues at HC-One’s Market Lavington care home enjoyed celebrations as they commemorated the 75th anniversary of VE day together.

The sun was shining and everyone sat outside in the courtyard of the home, with decorations adorning the home, including red, white and blue bunting and a cardboard cut out of the Queen.

A Pimms punch was enjoyed by all as everyone tucked into a variety of delicious home made cakes and treats. Residents enjoyed holding Union Jack flags as they waved them around, listening to a rendition of a famous war poem by Siegried Sassoon, before enjoying some guitar music played by Colleagues at the home.

Residents enjoyed singing various war time songs before sitting down to listen to the famous speech by Winston Churchill.

One Resident remarked: “What a lovely way to spend an afternoon, it’s brought back some fantastic memories.”
