The Residents at HC-one’s Shelton Lock care home have been painting insect houses and bird feeders in order to attract many visitors in to the garden. As well as this, Colleagues have been cleaning the garden, ridding it of dead leaves and preparing it so that Residents can plant their own in the future.

Gardening helps keep elderly general health in a better state by strengthening bones, muscles and joints; it also helps the elderly with balance resulting in less falls; keeps blood pressure at bay; reduces the risk of heart disease and stroke; and of course, helps keep their minds in a positive state
