Dartford care home team member receives award for kindnessHC-One’s Priory Mews care home in Dartford is celebrating the work of Sara Devereux, who has received a Kindness in Care Award for her thoughtful and conscientious attitude since starting work at the home.

The Kindness in Care Awards programme was launched by HC-One, a leading provider in health and social care, in October 2013.  It recognises the efforts of their kindest colleagues, and the impact they have on the lives of Residents and their loved ones. Month on month, record breaking numbers of awards are presented to colleagues, volunteers, and whole teams within the family of homes that HC-One operates across the UK.

Care Assistant, Sara was nominated for a Kindness in Care award by the Sons of a Resident who she accompanied to hospital. Sara stayed with the Resident in the hospital long after her twelve hour shift was finished to calm and comfort them. Relatives of the Resident were grateful that Sara stayed with their loved one during an unnerving situation.

Located on Watling Street, Priory Mews offers short and long term care to elderly members of the community needing residential, nursing and memory care. The home is also celebrating achieving a 9.4/10 average rating on the sector’s leading care home comparison website, carehome.co.uk.

Priory Mews Home Manager, Deborah Lane said:

“Sara always goes the extra mile for everyone, and this award is the best way to honour everything she does for the whole community at Priory Mews. Life here truly wouldn’t be the same without her, and it’s really inspiring to work alongside somebody so kind and selfless.

Sara Devereux is exactly what HC-One is all about.”

HC-One Managing Director, Amanda Scott said:

“The Kindness in Care Awards programme is about recognising and celebrating colleagues who demonstrate the kindest care and the best practice that we can all learn from and Priory Mews has the privilege of having just such a colleague.

“Each and every day, HC-One staff do incredible work, and make such a difference to the lives of Residents living in our homes. It is great to work with such inspirational, caring and kind people.”
