Dancing, singing and cakes for Worsley Lodge ResidentsIt was time for another social occasion for Residents at Worsley Lodge as they joined other members of the community for the Tea Dance at the Swinton Pallais.

The Swinton Pallais opened its doors in 1986 by proprietor and dance teacher Stephen Johnson, and is now one of the longest running dance schools in the country.  It hosts a variety of dance classes and events including its popular monthly tea dance.  The types of dances performed during tea dances included waltzes, tangos and, by the late 1920s, the Charleston.

Residents enjoyed dancing and singing along to the music, and indulging in some tea and cakes whilst connecting with other likeminded individuals.

Home Manager, Sarah said:

"We are committed to putting Residents first and improving their health and wellbeing. Dance benefits the body and the mind, and can offer physical health improvements in balance, strength and step, which can reduce the risk of falls.

Our Residents attend the tea dances each month which are a sociable, fun and free way to keep active and stay well and they look forward to going and meeting new friends”.
