Creepy crawlies visit Acorn Hollow care home
HC-One’s Acorn Hollow care home enjoyed a visit from Zoolab, the UK’s number one animal handling experience.

Residents gathered together to spend some time learning about the behaviour, appetite and lifestyle of a variety of different creatures as well as having the opportunity to hold the different animals.Zoo lab had brought various halloween themed creatures including a rat, lizard, python, giant snail, tarantula, and millipede.

Some were braver than others when it came to holding some of the more unusual creatures.

It was a great experience for everyone, the group all commented on how interesting it was to hold such exotic animals.

Comments from the day included:

‘I’m very proud of myself for touching the snake – I’m scared of them!’

‘The tarantula was beautiful close up, they get such a bad name’

Home manager, Keeley Hackney commented:

“We really enjoyed the visit from zoo lab, and was really impressed with how much the Residents took and interest and got so involved, very brave!”
