Residents at Chaseview Care Home, in Burntwood, have been enjoying an Easter Fayre with three local councillors, as well as Relatives and Colleagues.
To mark the start of spring, and the lead up to Easter festivities, an Easter Fayre was held at Chaseview care home, which had a fantastic turnout and was a day full of joy, laughter, socialising and plenty of activities for everyone to get involved in!
Councillors Sue Woodward, Darren Ennis and Steven Norman dropped in on the 60-bed nursing and residential dementia care home where Residents and Colleagues were helping on a variety of stalls and enjoying delicious freshly baked cakes.
Residents’ families and other visitors also attended the event, which raised over £700 for the Residents’ Activity Fund, which will be used for upcoming events and activities in the home for Residents to maintain hobbies and try out new ones too.
An Easter egg hunt and hook-a-duck game provided entertainment for children, while adults could purchase a range of items including books, bric-a-brack and decorated plant pots designed by the Chaseview Residents themselves. A raffle was also held.
One of the Relatives commented, “We had a lovely time, there was lots of variety of stalls’, while another commented on the ‘lovely raffle prizes on offer.”
Councillor Sue Woodward said, “It was a real pleasure to support Chaseview in adding all the little extras that mean so much to their residents and make their lives more fulfilling. I'm so grateful too for the help that staff and residents have given Burntwood Town Council in gaining accreditation as a Dementia Friendly Community.”
“This is personal for me: my dad was a resident there for the last few months of his life and I cannot thank Chaseview enough for all they did for him, and for us as a family."
Home Manager Jenny Khadoo said, “We had a wonderful day, and it was lovely to see the huge turnout and fantastic amount of money raised!”
