Community shows Christmas spirit with kind donation to Hull care homeKesteven Grange care home in Hull was delighted to receive a kind donation from the local community as Residents and Colleagues prepare for Christmas.

Lauren, the granddaughter of Kesteven Grange Resident Judy, has been working exceptionally hard at her workplace to encourage the local community to make an act of kindness this Christmas.

As manager of the high street store Pep and Co., Lauren had discussed an initiative with her customers to donate Christmas gifts to everyone living at Kesteven Grange to give something back to the older community.

Lauren was delighted to receive lots of donations from people working at and visiting her shop, as she gathered together many fluffy slippers and socks to donate to the care home.

Residents were overjoyed with the gesture, as the home received five large shopping bags filled with presents, some of which will ensure that people with no close Relatives will have gifts to open on Christmas day.

One Resident commented: “I’ve never seen so many socks! They all look great and we can’t thank Lauren enough for what she has done for Kesteven Grange.”

Kellie Moore, home manager at Kesteven Grange, said: “Everyone working and living at our home is so grateful to Lauren and the local community for their kindness in providing such lovely gifts to our Residents.

“The initiative to give something back to the elderly community is so heart-warming, as it lets them know they have people thinking of them at Christmas time.”
