Community enjoys a sizzling summer party at care homeResidents at HC-One’s Needham Court Care Home took full advantage of the long summer by hosting an action packed garden party for the Jarrow community.

Friends and family descended on Needham Court for the seasonal celebration, taking part in various garden games, a raffle, a tombola and viewing the selection of stalls put on by the home.

Volunteers helped out throughout the day and helped to make it a true success, raising an incredible £545 which is the most the home has ever raised.

The money raised will go straight to the Resident’s comfort fund and will be used to book more entertainment in the home and to order some new musical instruments.

Music therapy is really important to Needham Court as it helps Residents to interact and leaves them all with a smile on their face.

Resident David Maloy commented:

“I loved helping out and getting all set up for the fair, it was wonderful to see all of our families together.”

Chris Boat, Carer at Needham Court, commented:

“It was a great day and it was wonderful to see the Residents having such a great time, singing and dancing along to the entertainment.”
