Community enjoys a sizzling Summer Fete at Hamilton care homeResidents at HC-One’s Douglas View Care Home took full advantage of the long summer by hosting an action packed Summer Fete for the Hamilton community.

Friends and family descended on Douglas View for the seasonal celebration, taking part in the tombola, face painting, a bouncy castle and tarot card readings, whilst enjoying tempting refreshments and a barbeque. The local fire brigade also attended to let the children sit in the fire engine.

The community spirit didn’t stop there, with two very kind donations from Kelvin Timber and Hamilton Accies Football Team. Kelvin Timber donated wood to make goal posts for Beat the Goally and going forward, it will be used for the walking football group.

Hamilton Accies Football Team also made an appearance, much to the delight of everyone there, and kindly donated 10 season tickets for the Residents to use.

All in all, an incredible £1,000 was raised for the Residents’ comfort fund.

Katy Jenks, Douglas View’s Home Manager, commented:

“It was a great day had by all with fantastic community support. The home raised an amazing £1,000 to benefit the Residents, thank you to everyone who came along and made the day such a success.”
