Community celebrates Random Acts of Kindness Day at Northwich care homeResidents and members of the care team at HC-One’s Avandale Lodge care home in Lostock Gralam, Northwich welcomed members of the local community into the home to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Day on Sunday 17th February.

Home Manager, Samantha Farahat wanted to bring the community into Avandale Lodge to spend some quality time with all of the lovely Residents as part of Random Acts of Kindness Day. Samantha extended an open invitation to all members of the local community and the response was overwhelmingly positive.

Random Acts of Kindness Day is observed every year on February 17th since 1995, it celebrates the kind acts of individuals, groups and organisations.  

Avandale Lodge hosted an afternoon tea to welcome the local community into the home on Sunday, with over twenty visitors coming throughout the day including children, dogs and even a bearded dragon. As a thank you for coming, each visitor received a special thank you card and a small packet of forget me not seeds. 

A great day was had by all, Residents commented on how wonderful it was to see the home come to life and meet so many friendly people. 

Avandale Lodge Home Manager, Samantha Farahat commented: “I would like to thank each and every person who came to our event, your presence makes a real difference to the lives of our Residents.

“Making connections with the local community and working together as one is what Avandale Lodge is all about.”


HC-One Area Director, Susan Jones said: “The response from the community for this is event is great! At HC-One, we open our doors to friends, family, neighbours and local people regularly to offer kindness and support, and most importantly, to enrich the lives of our Residents.”
