Cold Springs Park Residents get festive with hymns and prayers for the harvest!Residents at Cold Springs Park in Penrith which offers residential and residential memory care, for those living with dementia, celebrated the Harvest Festival with hymns and prayers.

A small service was held, and all the Residents talked about what Harvest meant years ago and how things have changed in their farming community.

Residents then reminisced about old recipes that they used to use up the harvest produce and how much it was only seasonal fruit and vegetables, and the harvest supper was enjoyed by all.

One of the Residents commented, “I’ve had a nice time especially reminiscing about old harvest times”.

Jacqueline Johnstone, Care Home Manager, remarked, “It was nice to have a little church style service, which has been missed by all and it was lovely to hear about the Residents memories of Harvest Festivals and that there were only seasonal vegetables available, how times have changed”.
