At residential and residential memory care home,
Fir Trees, on Tameside, lockdown has been very hard on everyone, so when two Residents, Eileen and Fred, were offered the opportunity to visit their favourite cafe and pub they jumped at the chance!
Wellbeing Coordinator, Karolina firstly took Eileen to the town of Ashton for a coffee and obligatory cake, which Eileen thoroughly enjoyed. Fred was next and Karolina took him to the local lodge pub, who laid on fish and chips, and of course Fred thoroughly enjoyed the day and his meal, remarked, “I cannot wait to do it again!”
“When Karolina suggested we go out, it was so lovely to do something normal!” One of the Residents remarked.
Karolina commented, “We forget what we all took for granted before Covid and seeing how much Eileen and Fred enjoyed their day, it won't be the last!”
