Christmas festivities have begun at Hartford CourtResidents at Hartford Court, residential and residential memory care home, in Cramlington have been getting into the Christmas spirit.

First, staff and Residents joined in the fun and had an ‘elf day’ at the home. The home was decorated for Christmas and the staff and residents enjoyed dressing up as elves.

Everyone had lots of fun and enjoyed all the fancy dress.

One Resident, said, “I always used to love dressing the tree when my children were young, we would take turns putting decorations on the tree.”

As well as the fancy-dress day, staff at Hartford Court wanted to give back to the community that have supported them over the past year and in the festive periods.

The home contacted the Local Community Liaison Officer, who suggested the local organisation ‘Sparkle’ who provide local families in need of food hampers and toiletries.

Donations were collected over a two-week period, the donations were arranged into boxes and distributed throughout the local area.

Maureen Levy from Sparkle, commented, “Thank you to everyone who contributed, this will go a long way to helping a number of families at Christmas time.”

Care Home Manager, Rachel Rennie-Doran, added, “I am so proud of the whole team, the past 18 months in the care sector have been difficult but we still pulled together to give something back.”
