Celebrations at
Haven care home in Brighton, which provides nursing care, were slightly altered due to restrictions this year. This, however, did not dampen their spirit.
A Christmas party was arranged for the Residents at Haven, with some of the staff also attending. Food and drink was provided by the catering staff in the care home and Residents also received a present from Colleagues, which got everybody in the festive mood.
A raffle was held as well and some other fun activities such as Christmas bingo and a festive quiz, with some Residents also playing instruments along to Christmas songs – of which everybody was singing along to! Colleagues at Haven had arranged for a Christmas light display in the garden, which was hidden behind a curtain and later revealed, much to the delight of the Residents. Some other Residents who didn’t attend the party also came out to see the display. One Resident commented on how beautiful the lights were, “The garden looks lovely, it has really got me feeling more Christmassy!”
Other Residents commented on how they enjoyed listening to the others play instruments to their favourite Christmas songs and singing along with them. While others praised the catering staff and the light show that was put on in the evening.
Daryl, the Home Manager said, “I attended the Christmas party and it was nice to see all the Residents socialising this year and having a good time after lockdown last year. It was a good afternoon and evening”.
