Residents at HC-One’s Old Gates care home in Blackburn celebrated Chinese New Year on Tuesday 5th February.
Chinese New Year is the Chinese festival that celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional Chinese calendar. Residents started off their day with some arts and crafts, where they made Chinese paper lanterns and learnt to write in Mandarin, each Resident also had their name written in Mandarin.
Everyone gathered for a traditional Chinese lunch, some Residents had not tried some of the dishes before and were pleasantly surprised at how delicious it all was. A great time was had by all, with Residents commenting that it was lovely to celebrate Chinese New Year.
