Chesterton Resident celebrates 100th birthday with party at care homeSaturday 21st May was a very special day for one Resident at The Cambridge residential, nursing and nursing dementia care home, in Cambridge, as she marked 100 years young accompanied by family and friends for a fantastic get-together.

Iris Lloyd, who was born on 21st May 1922, was excited to enjoy this unique event along with her loved ones to celebrate this important milestone.

She was stunned to look at the decorations which had been put up to mark the big day and was surprised to see so many people attended.

Iris received a delicious cake, made by the team at Kings College, and Colleagues also made a toast in aide of Iris turning 100.

Everyone was in high spirits throughout the day, especially Iris, and she was delighted when she received her gift from the home and her card from the Queen. she could not believe she was 100!

Iris remarked, “Everyone was here to see me, isn't it just wonderful!”

Farai Maringa, Care Home Manager, commented, “It was lovely to see Iris and her guests come together to celebrate.”
