Chester care home Residents reminisce about ‘Back to School’Residents at Lauren Court residential care home, in Blacon, took part in some activities to reminisce about their school days today.

An A-Z board of school was discussed among Residents where they linked words relating to school life up to the alphabet. Overall, participants came up with ‘A’ for answers, ‘H’ for history and cheating slightly with ‘X’ for exams (although that was a tough one!”

Residents also had the opportunity to share about their own school experiences with lots of comments about what school life was like during World War Two.

Finally, everyone also had the opportunity to sing along to their favourite school hymns including ‘All things Bright and Beautiful’ and ‘Lord of the Dance’. They also got to share their piece of advice for anyone going back to school this week. See pictured Gwen, Colette and Joyce.

Gwen Evans, who lives at Lauren Court, said, “It brings back lots of memories. It was a very enjoyable afternoon.”

Rebecca, on the wellbeing team, added, “Being able to talk to our Residents about their school memories is a great way of reminiscing with each other but also encourages us to celebrate our similarities and our differences.”
