This holiday season marks a special milestone for four residents at
Crofton Springs Care Home, as they celebrate their very first Christmas in their new home.
Among them is Pat, the first resident to move into the home, who shared her joy and heartfelt memories as she takes part in the festive celebrations.
Pat, a former matron at The Cheltenham Ladies College, spent 20 years overseeing the care of young women before retiring. Upon moving into Crofton Springs, Pat said,
‘I felt a bit spellbound when I moved in because it is such a lovely open space. You come into the reception, and it’s all inspiring, isn’t it? The care here is genuine, and I knew immediately that I was number one!’
A proud mother of three—Stuart, Lisa, and Florence—Pat also spoke lovingly of her late husband, describing him as having such charisma that he could “
sell ice to an Eskimo.”
Pat’s positive experience at Crofton Springs is shared by three other new residents who are excited to celebrate their first Christmas in the home.
So far, the residents have enjoyed a variety of festive activities, including a Christmas poetry night, Christmas tree dressing, and the popular Festive Friday event, which welcomes both residents and the local community.
The highlight of the season for Pat was a special Christmas shindig with her new friends at the home, complete with festive treats and prosecco.
Jordaynie Russel, the Home Manager at Crofton Springs, said,
‘It’s our goal to create the most welcoming atmosphere and a family-like environment where our residents feel cherished, at home, and part of the community.
‘Making Christmas memories with our first three residents has been so heartwarming and exciting for our team, and we can’t wait to see what the new year brings.’
