Irene, a Resident at HC-One’s Admirals Reach care home, was delighted as she celebrated her 80th birthday with fellow Residents.
Banners and balloons decorated the home as Irene was presented with a bouquet of flowers, a card and 80th birthday balloon. A delicious birthday cake was also made for Irene to enjoy.
Her family attended the home to celebrate as a small buffet was served with sandwiches and snacks.
Born in 1941, Irene spent her career as an office assistant before marrying husband Derek, who she went on to have two daughters with before welcoming five grandchildren.
She enjoyed hobbies such as line dancing and playing bingo, as well as regular holidays abroad, with cruises being her particular favourite.
Irene was overjoyed at the celebrations for her birthday, as she remarked: “What a lovely day I’ve had with everyone.”
