Chef’s 20 years’ service celebrated at Dumbarton care homeHC-One’s Castle View care home in Dumbarton is celebrating the hard work of Chef, Sandra Skiggs and the opening of the home’s new 50’s American Diner.

Sandra was surprised by her Colleagues with a Long Service Award and a gift to celebrate her service as a Chef, providing nutritional and delicious food for Residents for the last twenty years at Castle View.

As a special thank you for her kindness and commitment to the home, Residents and team members decided to name the home’s new 50’s style American Diner ‘Sandie’s Diner’ after their beloved Chef. 

Sandie’s Diner, which was unveiled on Thursday 6th February, provides a unique dining experience for Residents at Castle View to enjoy daily and will also be open every Thursday from 12 pm till 3 pm serving a variety of classic diner meals from hot dogs to sundaes for visitors to the home.

Sandra was thrilled honoured to have the home’s diner named after her and thanked everyone at Castle View for her Long Service Award.

Castle View Home Manager, Joanne Donnelly said: “I am so pleased to be able to recognise Sandra’s hard work, she is a cherished member of the community at Castle View and that is why we decided to name our new American Diner after her.

“Sandie’s Diner is a wonderful addition to our home and provides a lovely setting for Residents to dine, spend quality time with loved ones and reminisce about decades past.”
