Residents at
Roseberry Court, residential and residential dementia care home, in Redcar enjoyed a lovely weekend celebrating the Kings Coronation and VE Day.
To celebrate such a monumental moment in history, Residents and Colleagues had a party to pay tribute to King Charles III on his Coronation Day.
Kelly, Home Manager at Roseberry Court, planned a fantastic party for both Residents and Colleagues to enjoy. An afternoon tea style buffet was on offer along with a tipple for those Residents who wanted one. Colleagues worked together to make some lovely cakes and desserts for the occasion.
There was lots of celebrating with singing, dancing and watching the Coronation on the TV. All Residents and their families were invited along to the celebration.
Rita, one of the Residents, said, “It was a fantastic gathering and lots of fun had by all involved.”
As VE Day landed on the same day at the Kings Coronation, there were a fantastic veteran’s group who came along to perform for the Residents.
They sang a huge selection of songs and provided a fantastic atmosphere for the Coronation weekend! Laughter flooded the room as Residents sang along and enjoyed the fantastic performance.
One of the Residents, remarked, “The humour the veterans brought to the show was great! The singing was fantastic too.”
Kelly, Care Home Manager, commented, “It was lovely to see the Residents having fun all weekend! Fantastic day!”
