Catwalk queens rock the runway at Aston House care homeThe beginning of July was all about the fashionistas at Aston House care home; all eyes were on Residents Alice and Shanti as they performed a fashion show in the home for an audience of fellow Residents and staff.

As part of the activity programme at the home, Residents were made to feel young again by getting their hair and make up done as well as choosing from a selection of beautiful clothing to wow the spectators. The day was so exciting and filled with laughter and enjoyment. Both ladies liked being applauded and cheered on over their performance.

Shanti commented saying that she loved the attention of being on the catwalk, while Alice added "I was over the moon and it made me feel young again."

Home Manager, Seema Sandeep-Jose commented, "Just because you are in a care home, fashion can still be very much part of who we are and make us all feel great.

“We do our best to provide a wide range of enrichment programmes for our Residents. Small things can indeed make a great difference. This event showed that they can enjoy the catwalk as much as younger people. They knew the attention was on them and they really liked it. Living in a care home doesn't put a stop to celebrating life.”
