Castletown care home Residents jet off to sunny PortugalTwo Residents from HC-One’s Northview Lodge care home in Castletown, Tyne and Wear, enjoyed a lovely relaxing break to Portugal in January assisted by two members of the team from the home.

After speaking with the Residents, the team realised that two Residents had never travelled on an aeroplane before and had expressed their wish to be able to travel to a sunny country. The team quickly got to work researching holiday destinations and booked a specially adapted villa which would be able to accommodate the Residents.

The pair were very excited to fly and had a wonderful time exploring the markets, tasting delicious food and relaxing by the pool in Portugal. The trip was such a success that the home is now researching for holiday destinations to arrange trips for Residents throughout the year.

Northview Lodge Home Manager, Patrick Morley said: “I am so pleased that our Residents had a wonderful holiday, being able to make someone’s wish come true and create more happy memories is truly heart-warming.”
