Care home worker skydives to raise money for Alzheimer’s SocietyAs part of World Alzheimer’s Month Deputy Home Manager Adele Prescott at Westleigh Lodge care home, in Leigh, Lancashire completed a skydive to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society.

On Friday 13th September, Adele journeyed to Tilstock Freefall Club in Whitchurch to take the leap. She was very nervous due to the date being Friday 13th!

The charity Adele chose is close to Adele’s heart due to her nan previously living with dementia and herself working in dementia care for the last 13 years at Westleigh Lodge nursing dementia care home. Adele was very close to her nan and cared for her nan for 3 years, before she moved into a care home.

Adele raised a total of £730 for the Alzheimer’s society!

Residents, families and fellow members of the team and local community sponsored Adele, many who have been personally affected by loved ones living with dementia.

Adele Prescott remarked:
“Looking after my Nan inspired me to work in dementia care and I’ve now worked at Westleigh Lodge for 13 years! This is not just a job for me, it is a vocation.”

Home Manager at Westleigh Lodge, Christina Dale, commented:
“I am very proud of Adele she is such a special kind, and caring individual.”
