Care home Residents joined by Local Pre-School for MayDay
Residents and staff at HC-One’s Hollymere House came together to celebrate a traditional May Day.
 
The youngsters from Haslington Pre-school joined the home and performed a traditional dance around the May Pole. The May Pole was at its earliest was documented in Britain in the Mid-14th Century. The Residents loved the performance and it brought back some lovely memories.
 
The Residents and Children then decorated some cakes together and had even more fun eating them!
 
Rob Wheatley, Home Manager at HC-One’s Hollymere House commented:
 
“The Children from Haslington Pre-school have brought smiles to our Residents faces as they weaved the may pole, it brought back lovely memories for many. Hollymere house have forged strong relationships within the local community and we hope to continue to do so!”
 
Resident, Peggy remarked:
 
“The May Pole dance was wonderful. I think there were more decorations on the floor than on the cakes we decorated but they tasted very good! It was a lovely afternoon!”
