Care home Residents changing the way society views Alzheimer’sResidents and staff at HC-One’s Park House Care Home in Guisborough joined together to spread the word about World Alzheimer’s Day.

A range of activities took place to raise awareness, including entertainment from local singer Janie St John, who performed songs from around the world, all of which the Residents knew and sang along to, and refreshments.

Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia. It is a progressive mental deterioration that can occur in middle or old age, due to generalised degeneration of the brain.

Alishia Calvert, Home Manager at HC-One’s Park House commented:

“It was lovely to see Residents from all units coming together to enjoy their special afternoon.”
