Care home Residents attend tribute Leicester City matchLong-time Leicester City fans, Roy Smith and John Otty, Residents at HC-One’s The Rowans care home in Leicester visited The King Power Stadium on Saturday 10th November to attend the Leicester City vs Burnley match.

The visit was very emotional as Roy and John joined fellow supporters, players and staff in an emotional tribute to Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, Leicester City Chairman who was one of five people who died tragically in a helicopter accident in October.

Roy has not been to a live match for over 30 years and was honoured to be there to commemorate the life of Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha. Both men loved watching their beloved team play and even though the game ended 0 – 0, John and Roy left the match with big smiles on their faces.

Roy Smith, Resident at The Rowans commented:

“What a smashing day, I never believed I would be able to Leicester City play on the pitch again.”

Jodie Robinson, The Rowans Home Manager said:

“It’s lovely to have the opportunity to make Roy and John’s wish come true, the smiles on their faces were such a joy to see and is what our job is all about.”
