Pytchley Court in Northampton, which provides residential, nursing and dementia care, have been getting all their preparation work done to be ready for Care Home Open Week.
Care Home Open Week is a little different this year with the activities across the nation taking part over a week, as opposed to just one day as with previous years. It is hosted by Championing Social Care, a volunteer-led group with the aim of ensuring public understanding, appreciation, and respect for social care.
Pytchley Court will host a number of different events which also coincides with their Dementia Café “Chatter Café” opening as well. The café will host people every Tuesday and Thursday which will give people a chance to meet the Home Manager, Sue Watson, and enjoy some lovely tea or coffee and cakes.
During the open week, the care home has arranged for a particular Resident favourite entertainer to come back into Pytchley Court, Sarah Jane. She is planning of singing 30
th where members of the community can come together and speak with Residents. On the 1
st of July there will be a special tree planting service dedicated to the Queen’s jubilee which has recently passed. The tree had been bought with money that Residents and Colleagues raised at a fundraiser hosted by Pytchley Court.
Residents are excited to get involved with the Brixworth Community and listen to their live entertainment for the day. However, many Residents expressed they think they will enjoy most of the activities and the event in general.
Sue went onto say, “It will be nice to have the local community welcomed back into the home, and Pytchley Court being part of the village community again”.
