Care home lit up for Remembrance event
A HC-One care home in Heaton Moor was lit up with falling poppies when it hosted a Remembrance event to mark the centenary of the end of the First World War.

The team at Newlands Care Home, which is situated on Heaton Moor Road, were joined by members of the local community for the special event.

On the evening, staff, Residents and guests took part in a short Remembrance service, listened to memories from Residents of the Second World War and enjoyed a sketch by a local University of the Third Age group.

HC-One’s Care Home Manager, Lynne Anderson commented:

“I’m so proud that we were able to host this event, we all feel it’s so important to mark Remembrance Day and pay our respects to those who fought for their country. It’s been a busy few months here with the opening of our new luxury care suite, The Beeches, so to be able to celebrate by lighting up the home and welcoming the local community for the evening was really special.”

Situated within Newlands, the Beeches Suite opened in August and offers luxurious hotel style accommodation throughout, including premier and deluxe premier rooms.
