< Back to home
Residents from Fosse Way View care home in Nottingham have been using their knitting skills to support the Project Linus Charity and QMC Sarc Unit for a second year running.
After the success of last years knitted creations, Fosse Way Views keen knitters were eager to grab hold of their knitting needles and get to work to help support Ceris, volunteer for the charity, provide the children at the hospital with warm blankets this winter.
Ceris Watts, Volunteer for Project Lunis Charity personally collected the blankets from the care home. She said,
“ I am so happy to be picking these lovely blankets up from the fosse way view knitting ladies, the children will love them! The partnership we've built with Fosse way view is brilliant for the charities.”
This year, the knitting club knitted a total of eight blankets to donate and next year aim to expand their creations to hats and scarves.
Dawn Bellaby, wellbeing coordinator at Fosse Way View said,
“I'm so proud of the time and effort our lovely ladies in our Knit and Natter group have put into making the blankets. We were all moved when Ceris told us where are going this year. We hope they feel our love when they hug them.”
Since their donation, the Knit and Natter ladies have been busy planning for next years donation a plan to get a head start in preparing for an even bigger donation.
