Care home gives extreme makeover to Resident bedroomHC-One’s Beeches care home in Nottingham granted the wish of a Resident and gave her bedroom a fantastic makeover.

Rene Teate has lived at Beeches for 19 years and enjoys socialising with the staff and other Residents. She expressed that the only thing she didn’t like about living at Beeches is that she felt her bedroom was looking dated and old.

Home Manager Sara decided it was time to give Rene’s room a complete makeover. Every detail was chosen by Rene, from the furniture to the furnishings.

Ian, Maintenance Operative used an app on his phone to help Rene choose the perfect colour to paint her walls and Sarah, Wellbeing Co-ordinator helped her choose curtains and bedding on a trip to the local shops.

Once Rene made all of her decisions she refrained from visiting her bedroom until the grand reveal. Housekeeper, Sandra made the final touches before Rene was invited to see her new bedroom.

Rene was overjoyed when she saw her new bedroom, she loved seeing all of things she had chosen put together and couldn’t wait to spend her first night in her newly decorated room.

Sara Scott, Home Manager at HC-One’s Beeches said:

“Seeing the smile on Rene’s face was the best feeling for me and my colleagues. We hope that she enjoys her lovely new bedroom.”

HC-One Regional Managing Director, Amanda Scott, said:

“It’s lovely to hear what the staff at Beeches have done for Rene. Organising memorable events like this is an important part of how HC-One provides the kindest care.”
