Cambridge Residents celebrate Valentines day with a twistResidents from HC-One’s The Cambridge, in Cambridge celebrated Valentines day a little bit differently this year as they decided to decorate cakes for their loved ones.

Residents and staff decided, instead of the usual sending of cards and a bouquet of flowers, that they would decorate their own little cupcakes with flower ornaments and give them to their loved ones.

“I enjoyed trying something new”, said Resident Brian Free.

In the afternoon Residents also decided to ditch the usual ‘romantic’ concert and had a dance to some reggae! Around 20 Residents attended and were drinking mocktails and wine whilst having a sing and dance.

“I enjoyed today very much, it was something different.”

The Residents enjoyed decorating the cupcakes and the reggae concert a lot and hope to have one again sometime in the future.

The Cambridge Home Manager Sham Deonarine said: “It’s so nice to have something different for the Residents to do.”
