Caerphilly Care Homes Residents attend Caerphilly 50 Plus Forum AGMCaerphilly 50 Plus Forum recently held their Annual General Meeting in the auspicious surroundings of Caerphilly Castle.

Caerphilly 50 Plus Forum is an independent voluntary organisation run for the benefit of older people. Their aim is to improve the quality of life for the residents of Caerphilly Borough who are over 50. The Forum’s current focus is promoting age-friendly communities.

To ensure the views of old people in the community who live in residential care are heard the Forum actively invites contributions from these members. Residents of HC-One Trafalgar Park Care Home in Nelson and HC-One Abermill Care Home in Abertribwr attended the Forum AGM so that their own communities were represented and the wider care home population across Caerphilly.

The Residents from the two care homes thoroughly enjoyed attending the meeting and getting to know other members of the Forum. They also enjoyed the entertainment provided at the AGM whilst experiencing the atmosphere of the Castle.

Home Manager at HC-One Abermill Care Home Leah Mort commented “we are keen for all our Residents to engage with the local community and its was encouraging to hear those that attended the Forum telling fellow Residents about their experience and what they learnt – they are now really looking forward to attending other community events in the future”
