Caerphilly Care Home Staff Raise Funds for HomeTen members of the Care Team at HC-One’s Parklands care home, braved the recent UK heatwave as they donned some fancy dress and walked 5 miles to raise money for their Residents.

Walkers aged between 15 and 84 walked from Bedwas into Caerphilly town, around the castle and to The Green Lady (roughly 5 miles) on one of the hottest days of the year.

They raised over £700 for the Residents fund, a pot of money dedicated to enriching and improving the lives of Residents at the home with activities, trips and improvements to the home.

Parklands Home Manager commented:

“This was an excellent bonding experience for our Team and I’m so proud of how dedicated they are to providing the kindest possible care for our Residents. We raised an incredible amount that will do so much good for our Residents!”

Parklands is dedicated to the wellbeing of residents and encourages them to take an active role in home life.

HC-One wellbeing co-ordinators work closely with residents and their families to develop a varied programme of activities and events throughout the year, which celebrate birthdays, Easter, Christmas, Chinese New Year and national celebrations.
