Remembrance
By Beryl Jones

I don’t need a poppy to remember that precious lives were lost in world war two and many more at such an awful cost.
I don’t think we will ever learn the lessons of the past.
The first war was meant to be the first but also the last but human nature what it is the promise didn’t last.
I also buy a poppy although I’ll always be thankful to the forces that fought to rescue me.
I hope that the sale of poppies will help somebody now.
To take away the worry and fever off the brow.
I may not need a poppy or a picture frame to remember what they did for me I’ll buy them just the same.
