Burns Night celebrations for Chesterton care home ResidentsResidents and Colleagues at HC-One’s The Cambridge care home enjoyed an exciting afternoon of fun as they celebrated Burns Night.

Everyone decorated the home with blue and white colours, complete with flags, baloons and table covers, in preparation for the day of excitement.

Colleagues arranged the day in a way to give Residents a ‘sensory experience’, with Residents enjoying tasting a variety of Scottish delicacies such as tea cakes and other treats, before reading poetry by Robert Burns.

Music was provided by a bagpipe musician which Residents delighted at. The home’s catering team then provided a delicious supper of Scottish broth which Residents enjoyed trying.

Sham Deonarine, home manager, commented: “Everyone has enjoyed learning about the Scottish culture today, celebrating Burns Night has been great fun.”
