Residents at HC-One’s Pinehurst care home in Sevenoaks celebrated Burns Night on Friday 25th January.
Burns Night commemorates of the life of the bard Robert Burns, born 25th January 1759. The day also commemorates Burns' contribution to Scottish culture, including his best known work, Auld Lang Syne.
Nancy Nutton, a 104-year-old Resident at Pinehurst has not forgotten her Scottish roots and was happy to celebrate Burns Night with fellow Residents. Everyone sat down for a haggis and a tot of whiskey in the dining which was beautifully decorated with photographs of Edinburgh Castle, where Nancy was married.
A great time was had by all, with Residents commenting it was lovely to celebrate Burns Night and learn more about Scottish traditions from Nancy.
